On the eve of Women’s Day in the year 2014, Mukkti Foundation launched its Me.Mukkti. wing, dedicated to the needs, safety and empowerment of women; and with it launched the Me.Mukkti.Marshals. A specialized team of women marshals who now travel on the women bogeys of the trains travelling along the Western Railway Line of Mumbai, between Churchgate to Borivali stations between 9:00pm to 12:30am every night. These women are trained to keep the women safe and at ease with Batons and Non Lethal Pepper Sprays to help them against the disruptive elements.
